Donations allow us to continue to develop and create Hope vases.
In March we attended the Missouri Art Education Association conference where we presented our HOPE vase project to teachers across the state. We sold some vases at the Bizarre Bazaar and want to thank those that purchased a vase for themselves or someone who needs hope. All proceeds are used to purchase more materials for the vase project.
We also received a donation of texture roller stamps from Krueger Pottery that were used in our workshop as well as on many of our vases. Many thanks to Ryan who made the donation possible.
Another donation came from Denise Ertler at Mayco…Linda had this to say:

In support of the Springfield Arts Council fundraiser….we made HOPE vases with the Hearts for the Arts in mind. Go online to see and bid on the vases. . All proceeds go to support SRAC’s year-round arts education programming that hires local teaching artists and arts organizations to work with at-risk youth as well as area after-school and weekend programs. Programs include Free Art Day, Growing Up in the Arts and field trips to The Creamery Arts Center. In 2010, the SRAC reached over 20,000 children in the 27-county region the Arts Council serves. Follow the Springfield Arts Council link on the right.

Another start to the New Year

Last evening we started the New year by giving our friends the opportunity to make their own vase to give away. Most had not worked in clay but found it a great way to spend the evening! I think they might have even surprised themselves with their own talents!
Starting the New Year

We started the New Year by attending a volunteer workshop at Cox South and made another delivery of Hope vases to the hospital.
It is always wonderful to hear where our vases go and we learned that one went to a Joplin resident who was at a Springfield hospital. By chance, and in a completely unrelated environment, I met his niece and discovered that he had received a vase while in the hospital. She was excited to share how much it meant to him to receive one.
